A Little Nip & Tuck

YOU GUYS! How pretty does my blog look?! I am seriously SWOONING. SWOO-NING.  It took a lot of emails, late night calls to GoDaddy (they were actually quite helpful in my dire darkness),  & a lot of overall stress, but I couldn't be happier with the result.

For longer than I care to remember (or admit), I've wanted to shake things up while still remaining true to the chaos that is my life.  I know I know, didn't I just do this when this space grew from Khaos in the Kitchen, to Chaos in the Condo? Sort of.  It was really exciting for me to expand the topics I was posting about while continuing to navigate my way around the kitchen.  But, as time went on,  blogging felt more like a chore than something I enjoyed doing. I went through posting spurts that left me feeling unfulfilled & unenthused - the exact opposite of what this space was supposed to be. I knew I had to either make a change, or shut down the blog.  The thought of shutting down my little corner of the blogosphere was heartbreaking to even think about. So I knew a change would have to be made, but I wasn't sure what it was exactly that I wanted to change.    Unsure of what to do, I stopped posting for a bit & just stepped away.

About six weeks ago, I was scrolling thru my Instagram feed minding my own damn business when  I came across a post from a blogger I follow, Aubrey Kinch,  promoting her blog design services.   Seeing her post sparked something & it all began to make sense. My blog needed a makeover.  Not just a new title graphic that I made J create, but a complete overhaul to the feeling & vibe of the space. This was completely unplanned, but after a brief exchange with Aubrey, I knew this was what we (the blog & I are a "we") needed.  Call us shallow, but when you feel good on the outside, you feel good on the inside.  That is what we needed. A little advice? If you're going to re-design your blog,  I suggest having some semblance of an idea as to what you're going for besides "new, modern & clean".  Over & a lot of emails (sorry Aubrey) & research, I finally came up with an idea that Aubrey was able to bring to life.

Since the blog was getting a fresh look, it felt only right to update the title just a bit.  We aren't going to always live in a condo (I hope) & I don't want to change it again when we eventually move.  So this is it.  No more changing the title. Trust me, after what I went thru trying to change my domain name, I'm never changing the title again.

As you'll see by the new navigation bar,  the overall content will be staying somewhat the same, but there is a new style page.  No, you won't be seeing me taking glam solo photos like most bloggers because let's face it...that ain't me.  Taking a new picture for the home page was stressful enough.  But thankfully I have a local friend who can do wonders with Photoshop. Thank you to Justine Joy for the beautiful new pic!  BUT I do love fashion, accessories & finding a good sale. So fun things to come there! There are also a few other small changes I made throughout that I hope will make things easier to find & navigate.

Also, if you start looking at old posts, some of my formatting has become a bit funky. It's going to take me a bit of time to get all the kinks out, but I couldn't wait until then to share!

Thank you to those who have stuck with me during this transition. I've been watching my page stats & I know people have been visiting the site as it has slowly gone through some changes & I'm sure many of you were confused.  So thanks for sticking around!  I have high hopes all the stress will be worth it!
