3 Weeks into the New Year, Here's What I Know..


It's been 3 weeks since 2016 left us & it's taken me that time to figure out how I want to approach this coming year.  I don't like to make resolutions because it feels like a giant setup to fail.  Sure it'd be nice to keep my house clean or to lose  5  15 lbs.  But, these seem REAL boring & totally unoriginal.  Resolutions are supposed to make you a better person; I don't think keeping my clothes off the floor is going to do anything to truly enhance my life. Plus, I know myself & realistically, neither of those things is going to happen.  Now, don't get me wrong, I like the idea of of bettering myself & I'm always looking for ways to improve. So where does that leave me?

If I want to make some positive changes in my life,  I have to figure out what it is I'm unhappy with. I started to make a list of all the things I wanted to change when I realized, I can lump them all into one category. 3 Simple words can have a huge impact on my life.  3 Words I'm going to live by in 2017.

Do. More. Shit.

I want to do more shit this year.  I want to go on weekend trips. I want to spend more time outdoors. I want to try new restaurants. I want to work out more. I want to see more movies & shows.  I want to try new recipes. I want to read more...well, continue reading as much as I have in the past two years but try new categories. I want to blog more. I want to learn. I want to volunteer. I just want to have more fun.

Having more fun is the basis for succeeding. If I'm having fun, I'll keep it going. So there you have it. My big plan for 2017.  Time to get moving...or maybe take a nap first. We'll see.
