The bathroom remodel reveal is here!!!! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can catch up here & then here. Our remodel didn't go as smoothly as we hoped, but I watch enough HGTV to know that overall we were pretty damn lucky. My biggest fear was what the workers would find once the walls were opened up. But, no major structural damage found, no termites & no mold! AMEN. Our remodel did take longer than the projected one week, but only by a few days thanks to city inspectors who like to cancel their appointments. I had only one minor panic attack & that was with the paint color for the walls. After seeing the shower tiles & flooring done, the original grey I felt was too dark. Luckily, an employee from One Week Bath rushed out to the house with his paint fan & together we picked a much brighter color. Overall, we couldn't be HAPPIER with the final product. It feels so clean, modern & fresh!
For those considering re-doing their bathroom, something you SHOULD be aware of. The standard height for vanities has changed & is now much taller. If your bathroom is old, chances are your counters are much lower. J & I were pretty surprised when we first saw the height of the cabinets, but all it really means is more space for storage underneath!
What else did this remodel teach me? Taking pictures of a bathroom is a giant pain in the ass. But before we get to the final pictures, let's take a quick look at what our bathroom was so you can see just how dramatic of a change we made.
